Maria Ardizzi, Interior, 1996
Ardizzi is a highly celebrated novelist and poet, and an important part of Toronto’s Italian immigrant community. Her written work engages with themes of immigration, identity, language, and displacement. She is also a prolific and talented visual artist, and remains so even in her 90s. We are delighted to offer three of her pieces.
Interior is among Ardizzi’s oldest available paintings and is significantly larger than the landscapes she produced later in life. It depicts a domestic setting that is feminine, dreamy, introspective, and atmospheric.
What we love about it:
Dimensions: 66 x 62 cm
This oil on canvas painting is in excellent condition and is signed and dated by the artist. It is offered unframed. Note that detailed condition reports are available for all artworks upon request.
