La Pupila, acrylic on canvas, 2021

$120.00

La Pupila is a Colombian artist based in Tkaronto. She is an incredible freelance tattoo artist, painter of murals and works on paper and canvas, and upcycled clothing designer.

A principal theme in Pupila’s work is feminine energy with an aura of melancholy. She explores these interests through striking imagery, symbolism, ornamentation, and faces to convey distortions of memory and feeling.

We are thrilled to offer a number of artworks by La Pupila, including limited edition prints and original works on paper and canvas.

What we love about it: The beautiful, melancholy woman featured in this small painting is an exemplar of Pupila’s aesthetic. We particularly love the small star at the tip of the dagger, which along with the lilac colour bring an element of whimsy and play to an otherwise serious image.

Dimensions: 20.32 × 25.5 cm (5 × 7”)

Provenance: artist’s collection

This artwork is in excellent condition. Note that detailed condition reports are available for all artworks upon request.
